OWL Post Forums
Lately we’ve been noticing that the Owl Post Forum has been a little on the quiet side. Whether this is due to everyone suddenly becoming very busy or that we’ve simply forgotten they are there, it is time for a renewal. This time last year the forums were alive with all of the Enchanted, Malfoy Manor and Pure Arrogance members getting along famously.
The forums has a lot to offer everyone, from the camaraderie that can be found at the shout box, where everyone is welcome to chat to all of the others online on the forums, to simply letting everyone know what the latest Harry Potter news is and discussing it with people who have similar or different opinions. The sooner everyone gets back to the forums, the sooner we can get more new and interesting things happening there for those of you who are indeed interested in getting to know other people and getting enthusiastic about the fandom.
Some new ideas that might be introduced will be a Drabbles forum where people can post prompts for drabbles, and those who are around on a Saturday night can write, chat to others online, and post their stories as soon as they have been beta’d.
So whenever you have some free time, head on over to the forums and say hi.

Speaking of the forums, part of the issue is that owlpost refuses to work with the most popular email addresses - gmail, yahoo and hotmail. The majority of HP fans I congregate with on my LJ use these email accounts. Some tried to join owlpost without success, so they gave up on it.
Of course, the money costs are important. I'm glad I had no problems registering for the forums and GE with a hotmail address. But that was way before the warning about gmail, yahoo and hotmail was put up.
Unfortunately, people don't want to use their work email address or whatever 'real life' email address they have because of privacy issues. Nor they want to pay for another server email address. They resort to gmail/hotmail/yahoo instead.
Big hugs to Mistress Malfoy for providing a place where a fangirl can read, write and goof around with others who have simlar interests. I appreciate it. Truly. *Clears throat* Ask not what your forums can do for you(that seems obvious). Ask what you can do to be on the forums.
I know I am still not tech savy, and I enjoy 'lurking' around the forums, but I find it hard to participate with things. I have yahoo mail, however, and I have commented before, and have joined the forums, so I don't think the problem is always with the yahoo.hotmail, gmail accounts but with individual servers, perhaps?
Congratulations Brandi on your term as mod of the forums! I have been working so hard and so many hours the last two and a half weeks that I haven't had a spare moment to read, review, or lurk anywhere, and I fully intend to be very busy at work next week, too. One of my stores is getting remodeled! It's a pain, but it will be worth it.
