Draco Malfoy didn't want to see her again, but he had no choice. She was working for him, appraising valuables that he obtained when he acquired an old estate, and he would just have to put up with her. He thought it would be painful, meeting her again, talking to her, but she was pleasant. Friendly. What was wrong with her? What was wrong with him?
He found himself thinking about her. He even entertained the thought of asking her out on date. Maybe she would give him a kiss goodnight. What was wrong with him? Was he smitten with Granger?
Pulled into a mystery surrounding an old house, and an old book, he finds more than he was bargaining for, and he didn't want to fall in love with her. He also didn't want her to come to any danger. He would have been happy with a simple kiss goodnight.

They weren't friends. They weren't even friendly. Something about her, that day, made him want to wait for her. So he sat outside the chapel, and waited for her to leave. Neither was looking for romance, they really weren't. If they could walk away from the day as friends, then that would be enough, for anything more would be impossible, for they were such an unlikely pair. No one falls in love in 24 hours, not even Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy.
